Afternoon Session:
12:30-12:40-Gathering
12:40-1:00-Circle Time
1:00-1:30-Learning Centers
1:30-1:45-Circle Time (skill and concept)
1:45-2:00-music/large motor
2:00-2:15-Snacks
2:15-2:45-Free Play
2:45-3:00-show and tell, story, dismiss
This is the new schedule I decided to try starting in
January. For centers the students are in small groups and rotate
through. The centers are: Blocks, dramatic, small motor, art, sensory, and
listening center. So far the students have done well with the new
schedule. But of course, the number
one rule of teaching preschool is Be Flexible. I think this schedule
will work, but there will have to be changes depending on the unit and what we
want the students to learn. I think it is most important
to let the children decide how they learn best, and that could be different with
each class. But so far, I think this new schedule works well this year.
