Info about Miss Jamie
I have taught full time for three years at KinderCare and for
a year prior to that at another preschool. I enjoy my teaching job now but am
excited to have the opportunity to spend more time at home with my family. At
KinderCare I was able to work with and create lesson plans for children of all
ages from infants to school age, but preschool has been my favorite. I have had
many classes offered by the state and at SLCC in child development and
education. At KinderCare I was also able to take part in the process of working
toward accreditation by the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of
Young Children). The NAEYC focuses a lot on the interactions between students
and teachers, through asking the right kind of open ended questions children can
learn to think for themselves and to draw their own conclusions about the world
around them. There are teaching moments every minute of the day if we take
advantage of them. I am so excited to work with these preschool children
and to share my love for learning with them.
My favorite thing to do in my spare time is to play with my daughter and son , after that
I enjoy reading and scrapbooking. I also love music and enjoy teaching
piano lessons.
I am the mother of a little girl named Addie, born in May of 2001, and a baby
boy, Clayton who turned one in February, so being a
parent I can understand how important my job is to your family. I always feel
honored and privileged to be given the responsibility of teaching and caring for
these precious children. Please feel free to call (451-2338) or
e-mail me at jmtf-98@excite.com with
further questions.
